...Alot has happened in the last 6 months. Primarily, I moved down to London to take up a place at The Prince's Drawing School in Shoreditch. This is the amazing studio space I've been given, and share with my coursemates at the Tea Building on Shoreditch High Street. New work will be arriving here shortly, sorry it's taken a while!

I've been enjoying doing a few of these lately, they're for Gemma Correll's flickr group, 'What I wore today'. I've come across sites like lookbook.nu before, and they're great for inspiration, but I'd never dream of putting any photos of myself up there, so Gemma's group seems like the perfect forum for posting your everyday wardrobe dilemmas! I've been neglecting my blog for a good few months now, things need to change! Everything's been a little hectic of late what with christmas, birthdays and moving house, but anyway, spring's nearly here and I thought it was about time I sorted my portfolio's! Coming across old work is always nice. So I've put up some double page spreads from my book I made in the summer, it's based on the novel 'Alias Grace' by Margaret Atwood. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed making it, at the time it was all about late nights spent painting and early mornings on photoshop. I think I want to make another book.

I watched a strange documentary the other day about The Cat Dancers, Ron and Joy Holiday. The couple performed their Vegas entertainment act with exotic tigers during the 80's. It's a very bizarre tale..with a rather inevitable ending,definately worth a watch.

The private view for our degree show was last night, it was a little bit of a blur, but a nice blur. Here's some of the work that went into it, I stupidly forgot my camera so I'll take some pictures this week and put them up. Everyone's work was fantastic, I'm so proud of what we've all achieved. The show is on until Sunday 14th June at the Ruskin Gallery, come along and see it!

We had to send our images off for the postcards today, it was all a bit frantic. This is the image I decided on, it was one of 5 created for a brief on Oliver Sacks' book, 'The man who mistook his wife for a hat'. This was the story of the disembodied lady, Christina.

Well, first blog!...thought I'd put this up for starters. It's a page from a book I've been working on for my degree, based on the novel 'Alias Grace' by Margaret Atwood. In a nutshell it's about a servant, Grace Marks, who was convicted of murdering her former employer and his mistress in the 19th century. It's a slightly confusing mixture of historical accounts, quotes, memories and dreams, but it's been a brilliant source to generate imagery from.
